A commander in Brigade 12 of Dignity Operation militias in southern Libya confirmed that two of their fighters were killed in an attack on their patrol in the crossroad of Dar Brak between Sabha and Al-Jufra on Friday.
The commander said in a phone call with Alnabaa TV Channel that the patrol was in the process to be handed fuel tank trucks coming from Misrata and thus secure the road toward Sabha.
He added that the two killed fighters were Omar Al-Gabsi and Khalid Al-Gatroni.
“Conflicting news came in about the identity of the attackers, but they could be fuel smugglers in that district.” He added.
Last August, Fuqahaa checkpoint in Al-Jufra was the scene of an armed attack that killed 11 of the armed group securing the area.
