Interim Government in east Libya orders arrest of anyone in contact with Tripoli UN-brokered government

The Prime Minister of the Al-Bayda-based Interim Government Abdullah Al-Thinni has ordered the arrest of all those who would be proved to have contacted or dealt with the UN-brokered government that is based in Tripoli.

The Interim Government’s Interior Ministry said in a statement Saturday that the contact between some security officers and personnel with the “parallel bodies” of the UN-brokered government, which it described as illegitimate.

 “All those bodies and personnel must stand legal procedures.” The statement added. 

The UN-brokered government appointed Faraj Egaiem as deputy interior minister in Benghazi before he came under attack twice in one week between November 05 and 10.
