The UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, has discussed the latest development in the Libyan political process with the Head of the UN-brokered Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sirraj.
According to the UNSMIL’s Facebook page, the two also discussed the upcoming stage of the action plan devised by Salame.
The meeting comes before Salame’s briefing at the UN Security Council on the development of the Libyan political process, which is scheduled on November 16.
Salame met Al-Sirraj on Sunday morning in Tripoli.
Salame is trying to rally Libyans around the action plan he proposed on September 20 in New York and was adopted by the UN Secretary-General.
The action plan says Libya will see presidential and parliamentary elections in 2018 and thus end the current political stalemate.
