Libya has been removed from the terror-funding watch list of the International Financial Action Task Force (FATF), announced the Libyan Central Bank on Wednesday.

The CBL said on its website that this move could have positive effects on the Libyan “reputation” and boost the trust of the international organizations in the Libyan economic and financial institutions.

Libya has been placed on the FATF list in 2015.

FATF is an intergovernmental organization established in 1989 in France to develop policies to combat money laundering and terrorism financing internationally.
